 The Brooksie Way Half Marathon is one of Oakland County's premier quality of life events. County Executive L. Brooks Patterson began the Brooksie Way races to promote Oakland County and encourage people to become more physically active. Race proceeds support programs that encourage healthy and active lifestyle and are distributed through Brooksie Way Minigrants.

| The Brooksie Way Minigrant program is accepting grant applications to fund projects that support the promotion of healthy and active lifestyles. The application deadline is Aug. 1 for health and fitness programs that take place from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31. Local communities and non-profit agencies operating in Oakland County can apply for funding. The maximum award is $2,000. |
